Q

Web of Science links are not working when I use Multi-Database Search.

When I click on one of the results, I get a page that says, "Starting a New Session." It then takes me to a search page rather than to the article I wanted to view.

Answer

Web of Science recently switched to a new platform, and I've seen these session errors popping up a lot. I contacted technical support; they recommended clearing out my browser's cache and cookies and then re-doing the search, which seemed to fix the problem.

To clear your browser cache and cookies, follow these instructions: http://www.bnl.gov/itd/webapps/browsercache.asp. Then re-start your browser and repeat your search in Multi-Database Search.
