Q

I downloaded EndNote from a link on the library website a month ago.

Now when I try to bring up EndNote it says my 30 day trial is over and that I need to provide it with a product key.

Answer

The product key for EndNote should be in the folder where you originally downloaded EndNote. Trace where the download occurred. In the folder (it will be labeled something like EndNote X7) you should see a document that says License.txt. When you click on this you should see something like:

Serial Number: XXXXXXXXXX (where X = numbers)
Product Key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX (where X = a number or an upper case letter)

Copy the alpha-numeric product key. Open your EndNote and when it asks you for the product key paste this number into the box. If this doesn't work call IMT at (626) 815-5050.
