Sorry that you weren't able to find the book you wanted. When the book says "Available" in the catalog, but it doesn't appear to be on the shelf, the first thing you should do is go to the front desk and tell the library staff that you can't find the book. He/she will usually go to the shelf and try to find it (a second pair of eyes never hurts!). But... If he/she can't find it, then you can request that the book's status be changed from "Available" to "Missing." By changing the status, you will be able to check it out from LINK+. LINK+ will always refuse your request if the APU catalog has "Available" for the status (LINK+ forces you to use the APU collection first).
